Russell Branyan blasted 2 homeruns as the SSB SSB Tar Heels won in dramatic
fashion over the Dyersville Jurassics by a score of 6 to 5 at the
ballpark.
SSB won the game with a rally in the top of the 9th inning with 3 runs using 2
hits. After an out was recorded, Marco Scutaro began the SSB spurt when he
drew a walk. After another out, Derrek Lee stepped up to the plate and he
lined a single. Harris took off for second and slid in with a stolen base.
Curtis Granderson was up next and he bombed a two-run dinger (his 9th of the
season). Brad Lidge relieved and was untouched by Dyersville as he recorded
the save, his 24th.
The win went to Zach Miner(1-5) who allowed 1 run in 2 and 2/3 innings. Joe
Nathan(7-4) was tagged with the loss in relief. 'We just kept swinging the
bats and didn't give up,' Branyan said. 'If you just keep trying good things
can happen!'
